Scottsboro is a city in Jackson County, Alabama, and is included in the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, the population of the city is 14,762. The city is the county seat of Jackson County.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 134.0 km (51.7 mi). 122.6 km (47.3 mi) of it is land and 11.3 km (4.4 mi) of it (8.47%) is water. The water areas are the Tennessee River and its backwaters.
